甚麼是香港礦山挑戰賽？

What is Hong Kong Mine Challenge?

香港礦山挑戰賽是全港首個以礦場為主題的慈善競賽，於已獲多個被評級為歷史建築的馬鞍山前鐵礦場及礦村一帶舉行。參賽者將化身成昔日礦工團隊，親身走上他們於70年前的工作及生活路線，並完成各項任務，沿途既可欣賞馬鞍山獨特自然美景，亦一同關注礦村保育及人文歷史活化工作。

賽事所籌得的款項，將用於支持礦村文化保育及活化工程，並推動公眾教育工作。

Hong Kong Mine Challenge, the first mine-themed charitable race in Hong Kong, is going to be held near the Graded Historic Buildings: the Abandoned Ma On Shan Iron Mine and Mine Village. Participants will take the role as miners, follow the miners’ working schedule and daily routines 70 years ago, at the same time finishing different tasks provided. Participants are able to appreciate the unique natural landscape of Ma On Shan along the way. The conservation of mine village and the revitalization of the history of humanity could also be intensely concerned.

The fund raised by the Race would be used to support the conservation of culture and revitalization of mine village, as well as to advance community education.

為什麼要保育馬鞍山礦村？

Why is Ma On Shan Mine Village needed to be conserved?

馬鞍山礦村記載了一段香港獨一無異的鐵礦場歷史，於50-60年代全盛時期馬鞍山山上至山下有接近10000人聚居，當中包括大量戰後逃生的北方人，加上本地客家及潮州人，以及日本工程師的參與，形成了獨特的香港礦村歷史。另外，當年信義會及天主教於1950年開始為馬鞍山礦工提供教育、救濟、醫療援助及服侍善工。現時，馬鞍山擁有兩個被評為二級歷史建築的謹存礦洞，三級歷史建築的信義會恩光堂和30多個三級礦場建築群。馬鞍山擁有大量歷史評級建築的礦場及獨一無異的礦村人文風物故事，故我們欲加以保存及傳承，讓市民了解香港歷史發展的故事及背後的價值。

The Ma On Shan Mine Village has put the unique Hong Kong iron mine into written history records. During the Golden Era in the 50s and 60s, there were about 10,000 people living up on and down Ma On Shan - mostly Northerners who escaped from war. The involvement of Hakka, Teochew, and Japanese engineers created the unique Hong Kong Mine Village history. In 1950, the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Catholic had started providing education, offering relief, medical aid and diaconia. Now, there are two Grade II historic mine caves, the Grade III Evangelical Lutheran Church Grace Church and more than thirty Grade III mines are located in Ma On Shan. The graded mines and the stories of unique mine village in Ma On Shan are in great want to be preserved and inherited, so the citizens could learn the story of the historical development and the value behind.

參賽者年齡，有否限制？

Is there any age limits for participating?

挑戰賽參賽者必須於 2020年 10月 11日當天年滿 15歲，而公開賽參賽者必須於 2020 年 10月 11日當天年滿 12歲，體驗賽參賽者必須於 2020年 10月 11日當天年滿 6歲。

Challenge Race, participants must be 15 years old as of 11th October, 2020. , Open Race, participants must be 12 years old as of 11th October, 2020. Novice Race, participants must be 6 years old as of 11th October, 2020.

殘疾人士可以參加嗎？

Could persons with disabilities join the Race?

整項賽事設於整個馬鞍山礦場及礦村範圍，均是行山礦村路徑，由於大部份地方必須上樓梯，亦未設有殘疾人士輔助設施，請在安全的情況下衡量是否參與。

The whole race will be set in the Ma On Shan Iron Mine and Mine Village area, which the roads are all hiking and village routes. Considering most part of the route required stair climbing and there are no Barrier-Free Facilities, it is advised to take safety into consideration and weigh the pros and cons before joining.

可否先交報名表格，後補回最低參賽捐款額？

Can I first enroll and submit the minimum donation amount later?

由於賽事名額有限，為求清晰每位報名者的報名申請，我們不會接受後補最低參賽捐款額。隊伍於網上報名時，將同時繳付最低參賽捐款額，否則該次的報名申請未能成功，須重新報名。如需要籌款表格，可於網上報名前電郵至hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk向大會申請。

The places are limited for the competition. In order not to confuse with any of the applications, you can only enroll upon settling the payment of the minimum donation amount. Or else the application would be seen as failed and the teams will have to re-apply. If donation forms are needed, please send email to hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk before online application.

最低捐款額是如何計算？

How to calculate the minimum donation amount?

不論參賽人數多少，每隊最低捐款額為港幣$360/人 。

Regardless of number of team members, the minimum donation will be calculated $360 per head.

如在截止報名日期前遞交報名表格，是否代表已被確認參加資格？

Is the application confirmed by submission before deadline?

不是。由於名額有限，報名是以先到先得為準。

No. Your application is confirmed according to the acquisition of confirmation letter.

如網上付款未能成功，該如何處理？

What should we do if the online payment is failed?

為何設有隊伍名額？

Why are there limits set for the number of teams?

因應場地空間、路面寬度、人流管制、香港法例等條件限制，為確保安全，大會必須設立 參加人數上限。

Considering the restrictions caused by space of the venue, the width of the routes, crowd control and Hong Kong laws, the organizer has to limit the number of participants to ensure safety.

大會何時寄出參賽隊伍確認郵件予隊長/ 個人參賽者？

When will the organizer send out the confirmation email to the team leader/ individual participants?

網上報名及成功捐款後，隊長將會收到主旨為「信義會社會服務部總處 - 付款確認編號」的電郵，內容包括付款確認編號，請保留此電郵以便日後查詢。隨後一星期內，隊長會收到電郵及WhatsApp 訊息確認報名(如有提供WhatsApp 號碼)。若於報名一星期後仍未收到確認報名資料，請致電3421-1436或電郵至hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk與大會聯絡。

After finishing the online application upon settling the payment, team leader will receive an email titled “ELCHK, Social Service Head Office - Payment Confirmation No. ”, including the Payment Confirmation No. You are advised to keep the email for your own record. Team leaders will receive an email and a WhatsApp message (if WhatsApp number is provided) within one week, notifying their successful enrollment. If leader cannot receive the confirmation of the application within a week, please contact the organizer by 3421-1436 or email at hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk.

每位隊員都會從電郵/WhatsApp收到大會資訊嗎？

Will every member receive the information via email/WhatsApp?

當報名後，大會只會直接將賽事資訊電郵/WhatsApp予該隊隊長，請隊長通知每位隊員賽事各項注意事項。

After enrollment, race information will only be sent to the team leader via email/WhatsApp. Team leaders will have to remind their members about the notices.

如何獲取賽事的最新消息？

How can we get the latest news of the event?

賽事最新消息或改動皆會透過比賽網站及面書專頁-「香港礦山挑戰賽」發佈。

The latest news and updates will be announced on the “Latest News” of the event website and official event facebook Fan Page 「香港礦山挑戰賽」.

可否更改隊員或參加組別？

Could the members or the participated categories be changed?

隊伍如在報名後有任何資料更改，請到比賽網站下載區內下載「隊伍資料更 新表格」並於 2020年 10月 2日或之前按指示填妥及交回。否則，主辦機構有 權保留該隊的更改權利，甚至取消其參賽資格。

If any amendments have to be made after the application, please go to the “Download Area” of the event website and download “Team Detail Renewal Form”. Complete and return the form on or before 2nd October, 2020. Otherwise, the organizer reserves the right to modify the team’s right to amend, even to cancel its eligibility.

如已繳付最低籌款額，但仍有額外贊助捐款，可以怎麼辦？

What should I do if there are extra donations after the minimum payment has been settled?

如以網上捐款：透過此比賽網站中「隊伍贊助」->「搜尋隊伍」-> 按「支持他們」，填寫贊助者個人資料後，即可透過網上捐款。

If the online payment system is used: “Donation” on the event website -> Press “Team Donation” ->“Search Team” -> Press “Support Them NOW”. After filling in the donor’s personal information, donations can be made.

If donation forms are needed, please contact the organizer via email.

如何確認在網上捐款是否成功？

How could the online donations be confirmed?

在成功付款後，你會收到一封主旨為「網上付款確認」的電郵，內容包括付款參考編號，請保留此電郵，以便日後查詢。

After successful donations are made, you will receive an email titled “Online Payment Confirmation”, including the referencing number. You are advised to keep the email for your own record.

贊助人如何取得正式收據？

How could the donors get their official receipts?

網上報名時的正式收據將交予隊長代為分發，在隊伍贊助中的捐款將直接郵寄予贊助人提供的地址。各隊長可於賽後兩星期內電郵至hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk向大會申請取回贊助人名單。如贊助人不欲參賽者知道其贊助，請在網上捐款時在備註欄列明。

Official receipts for online registration will be given to the team leaders, while the donations made by “Teams Donation” would be mailed to donor’s address directly. The team leader can apply for the donors list within two weeks after the event via email hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk. If donors do not want to reveal their donations, please indicate in the remark section when making donations online.

收據會否經電郵發出？

Will the receipts be sent via email?

大會不會發電子收據，收據會經由報名者提供的地址寄回。

E-receipts will not be sent. Hard copies will instead be sent to the address of the applicants.

在賽後仍有捐款，可以怎麼辦？

What should be done if there are still donations after the event?

於 2020 年 10 月31 日或前，比賽網站中「隊伍贊助」頁面仍然開放予捐款。 或可參閱「其他捐款方法」

It is welcome to make donation on or before 31st October, 2020, through the "Team Donation" web page on the event page. For other methods, please refer to the “Other Donation Methods”.

甚麼是「最高籌款獎比賽」？

What is “The Highest Donation Reward Competition”?

我們鼓勵隊伍在繳交最低籌款額後繼續積極籌款以競逐最高籌款獎，比賽網 站設有「隊伍贊助」專頁，利用這個網上平台，隊員們只要將隊伍專屬網頁 分享給親朋好友，他們就可以透過網上捐款去支持你們參加香港礦山挑戰賽 並競逐最高籌款獎。最高籌款獎將會以 2020年 10月 9日下午 2 時正的籌款總 額為準。

We welcome more donations after settling the payment of the minimum donation amount. “Teams Donation” page is available on the event website. By sharing your web page to family and friends, they can support and donate your team. The Highest Donation Award will refer to the total donation amount at 2pm on 9th October, 2020.

如我的「隊伍贊助」專頁內容需修改，該如何處理？

What should I do if I have to edit the content in “Teams Donation”?

請將更新的內容或相片電郵至hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk，主旨請註明「更新贊助隊伍專頁」。

Please email the amended content or photo at hkminechallenge@elchk.org.hk. On the subject, please specify “Update ‘Teams Donation’ Web page”.

比賽當日可於會場遞交額外捐款或捐款/贊助者名單嗎？

Can we hand in extra donations or list of donors/donors on the event day?

由於比賽當天人數眾多，為安全計，現場不設遞交任何捐款/贊助者名單的安排。

There will be a large number of participants on the event day. Due to safety concern, we will not accept any on-site donations or lists of donors on that day.

如何獲取賽事的最新消息？

賽事最新消息或改動皆會於比賽網頁「最新消息」上發佈。

The latest news and updates will be announced on the “Latest News” of the event website.

比賽當日如何到達起點？

How can we reach the starting point on the race day?

主要公共交通或乘搭港鐵，在恒安站下車前往，敬請各參賽者預留足夠時間乘車，以免延誤比賽。是年賽事起點設於馬鞍山恒安邨內的基督教香港信義會馬鞍山信義學校。

Participants can use the public vehicles or MTR via Heng On Station to the starting point. Please leave plenty of traveling time to cater for unexpected delay. This year the starting point is at Ma On Shan Lutheran Primary School in Ma On Shan Heng On Estate.

如我駕駛車輛到起點，大會會否提供車位？

Will the parking spaces be provided if I decide to drive to the starting point?

大會不會提供車位予參賽者，建議參賽者乘搭公共交通工具或將私家車停泊於馬鞍山恒安邨內停車場。

No parking spaces will be reserved . Participants are encouraged to use public transportation or park their private cars in the car parks of Ma On Shan Heng On Estate.

比賽可以推嬰兒車嗎？

Can we push a stroller in the event?

由於整個賽事的場景設定在馬鞍山礦場及礦村，屬野外活動範圍，故為著嬰兒安全，大會不建議使用嬰兒車。

The whole course is set in the area of Ma On Shan Iron Mine and Mine Village, which is considered as an outdoor area. To ensure the safety for infants, it is not advised to use strollers.

大會設有行李寄存嗎？

Is baggage storage service provided at the event?

大會設有行李寄存服務，各參賽者可於比賽當日交到起點的行李寄存攤位寄存，完成賽事後請盡早取回行李。

Baggage storage service is provided. Participants can hand the storage bag to the baggage storage stall at the starting point on the race day. Please claim your bag as soon as possible after finishing the race.

賽前有沒有簡介會？

Will there be a briefing session before the race?

大會於賽前會安排簡介會，詳情於稍後以電郵/WhatsApp通告。另外，是次賽事各項細節及歷史資料均會清楚寫在選手包內的電子版『礦工手冊』(賽事守則)，請細心閱讀。

The briefing session will be launched before the event. Details will be sent via email or WhatsApp later. Please also refer to the Electronic “Miner’s Handbook” (Race Information) in the race packs for details and the history of the race.

大會供應甚麼比賽用品？何時派發？

What kind of items will be provided for the race? When will they be distributed?

隊伍在賽前三星期內收到通知，於指定地點時間或簡介會提取賽事「選手包」，當中包括參賽者的號碼布。詳情會在報名後收到參賽資訊中看到。

Notifications will be sent to the teams three weeks before the race. Participants should go to the specific venue/time or Briefing session, to collect their racer packs, including their racing bib. Details will be revealed in the event information received after your successful application.

比賽有甚麼需要注意？

Are there any important notes for the event?

因賽事需要大量的體力勞動，並有可能在炎熱或寒冷的天氣下在戶外進行，參賽者應按個人的體質考慮是否參加，並應自備足夠的飲料，防曬用品及禦寒衣物。

The race requires demanding physical labor and may be held at outdoor under stifling heat or chilly weather. Participants should consider whether they are physically fit to take part in this competition. It is advised to bring enough drinks, sun block and to dress warmly.

隊伍在賽事中會否進入礦洞？

Will teams enter the mines during the race?

賽事所到地方，主要是在馬鞍山礦場被評級的歷史建築遺跡的範圍進行，所到之處均是行山及礦村所到路徑，為著安全及法例上的考慮，賽事是不會進入礦洞內。

The route covers the area of Ma On Shan Iron Mine that is graded as historical buildings, which is the hiking and mine village route. Due to safety and legal concerns, mines will not be entered during the race.

我可自行設計起點和行程嗎？

Can I design my starting point and route?

隊伍均獲得各組賽事『礦工手冊』(賽事守則)，當中已規劃出賽線路線圖，必需按賽事要求完成各項任務及比賽路線，賽事不設自行設計起點及行程。

No. “Miner’s Handbook” (Race Information) will be distributed to each team. The race route has already been designed and confirmed. Participants have to complete the tasks and race according to the Handbook.

賽事是否有時間限制？

Is there any time limit for the event?

挑戰賽及公開賽之參加者必需在出發時間6小時內完成任務，而體驗賽之參加者則需於5小時內完成任務。時限一到大會會關閉終點線，逾時者不獲任何名次，但為了答謝參賽者支持大會完成賽事，完成後與其他參賽者一樣可獲紀念品。

For Challenge Race and Open Race, participants must complete the missions in 6 hours, while for Novice Races should be completed in 6 hours. When the time is over, the finishing line will be closed and latecomers will not acquire any rank. However, to appreciate their participation, they will receive the souvenirs.

所有隊員是否需要全隊同步到達各任務「關卡」及衝終點？(只適用團隊組)

Is it necessary for every member to reach the task “checkpoints” and cross the line together as one?(for Team only)

是次比賽的意義在於鼓勵各成員發揮合作精神，所有隊員均需要全隊到達各任務「關卡」完成任務及共同衝終點，比賽名次才會生效，否則參賽組別均不會獲得賽事名次。

The aim of the event is to encourage teamwork. It is necessary for every member to reach the task “checkpoints” and cross the line together as one. Otherwise, the team will not acquire any rank

比賽期間若遺失「賽事通行証」(計分咭)，可否繼續比賽？(如有)

Can we continue competing if we lose the "Race Permit" (Score Card) during the competition?(If any)

「賽事通行証」(計分咭) 是記錄隊伍完成各任務關卡的紀錄，如遺失了便不能確認隊伍的比賽名次，大會便不會為該隊計算名次。

The "Race Permit" (Score Card) is used to note down the task records for each team. If it is lost, the ranking of the team cannot be confirmed. The ranking will not be counted as well.

比賽當天必須掛上號碼布及晶片手帶？

Should the racing bib be pinned on our t-shirt and tied up your timing wristband with chip at the event?

所有參賽者必須將號碼布置於胸前當眼位置，號碼向外，切勿遮擋，以便工作人員辨認，否則大會將有權取消其參賽資格。晶片手帶內含計時晶片，請勿摺疊或移除晶片！(如遺失晶片,每個需繳付港幣一百元)，參賽者亦必須途經設於起點、終點線及大會指定分段計時地點之計時器上。如因錯誤佩戴、晶片損毁或未有接觸計時器，否則大會將不會計算參賽者之比賽時間。

All participants must pin their racing bib on their chest with the number facing outside. Racing bibs should be clearly showed for staff’s reference. Otherwise, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the team’s eligibility. Please do not fold or remove the wristband and would be charged HK$100 per chip if lost. Participants must make sure that they could connect the designated timing machine at the starting point, stipulated checkpoints and end point. The organizer cannot provide the racers their completion time if there is improper wearing or damage of the bib or failing to cross the designated timing machine.

比賽當天如需要緊急求助，可以怎麼辦？

What should I do if emergency service is needed at the event?

如需緊急求助，應立即撥緊急電話號碼 (列印於賽事號碼布上) 通知大會或請向附近檢查站的駐守工作員求助。

Please call our emergency hotline (printed on the race bib of participants) or ask for help at the nearest checkpoints if necessary.

如天氣惡劣，比賽會否如期舉行？

Will the event be held if the weather condition is non-ideal?

如因天氣惡劣而需要取消活動，大會將於比賽網站「最新消息」及賽事面書專頁-「香港礦山挑戰賽」上發佈天氣安排。

Organizer will announce the relevant information in “Latest News” of the event website and Official Event Facebook Fan Page 「香港礦山挑戰賽」, if the weather condition is non-ideal and the event has to be canceled.

如果有隊員遲到，該隊伍仍可參賽嗎？

If my teammate/I will be late, could we/I still take part in the race?

大會指定各參賽隊伍人數為最少1人及最多4人，如當日報到時參賽隊伍未能達到規定人數，則視為放棄論，而賽事進行後出現的遲到者可以自行與隊友會合繼續進行比賽，但仍要遵守各項任務關卡及衝終點需全體隊員進行的要求。

The number of participants refers to the criteria of race groups, it will be not more than 1- 4 people (Team)and not less than 1(Individual). If the team cannot reach the required number when reporting at the event, they will be treated as abandonment. The latecomers could join their teammates and continue the race, but they have to meet the requirements of each task and cross the line as a full team.

若有隊員臨時不能參與賽事，其他隊員可否繼續參加比賽？

Can the team go on the competition if there are members absent on the event day?

大會指定各參賽組別的隊伍人數為最少1人(個人組)及最多2-4人(團隊組) ，如當日報到時參賽隊伍未能達到規定人數，則視為放棄論。

The number of participants refers to the criteria of each race group, it will be not more than 2-4 people(Team) and not less than 1(Individual). If the team cannot reach required number when when reporting at the event, they will be treated as abandonment.

若有隊員臨時缺席，當天缺席的位置可由其他朋友替補嗎？

One of my teammates cannot make it to the event. Can someone else replace the missing teammate?

如參賽者當天未能出席比賽，參加資格不可轉讓給其他朋友。未能出席之參賽者，其已提交之捐款均不會獲得退回。同樣能參與比賽的隊伍資格，均要按組別要求達到大會最少1人(個人組)及最多2-4人(團隊組)的要求。

No. Race entries are strictly non-transferrable on that day. For participants who cannot join the race, their donations will not be refunded. However, it will be counted in the team’s total donation amount. The remaining number of team members will reach the required number of not more than 2-4 people(Team) and not less than 1(Individual), refer to the criteria of race groups.

我有朋友想參與比賽，但他沒有報名，可否現場即時報名參加 (walk-in)？

I have a friend who did not register but wish to join the race. Can he register on the spot?

不可以。所有參賽者名單會於比賽日前已確定，大會將嚴格執行。

No. The participant list will be finalized before the race and it will be strictly executed.

大會於沿途提供甚麼支援？

What kind of support would the organizer provide along the way?

大會沿途設有急救站、食物補給站及各任務關卡的工作人員為參賽者提供支援。

First aid stations, food supply stations and staffs of each task checkpoints will provide support to all participants.

活動當天沿途會有封路安排嗎？

Is there any arrangement of route closure at the event?

活動當天不會有封路安排，但賽事部份路段為車路，大會將會安排工作人員支援，並請各參賽者於賽事期間留意交通，小心車輛。

There will not be any road closure arrangement during the event. Participants should pay attention to the traffic during the competition as there is a part of the race route for traffic and our crews will provide assistance there.

如果選擇中途離開，應怎麼辦？

What if I have to pull out?

如隊伍有意中途退出，必須先行到最近的檢查站辦理退出手續。

Participants who intend to quit during the competition must report to the nearest checkpoint.

我對馬鞍山郊野公園很熟悉，我可以走非大會指定路線嗎?

I am very familiar with Ma On Shan Country Park. Can I not follow the stipulated route?

隊伍必須跟隨大會標示的賽道前進，嚴禁另走捷徑，若被發現違規，將被取消資格。

Teams should stay on marked course. Shortcuts are strictly prohibited. Participants will be disqualified if members have found to have taken shortcuts.

我對自己的賽事成績不認同，可以如何上訴賽果？

I do not agree with my result. How can I appeal?

大會當天在終點位設有查詢處，如對賽事結果有意見，可向當日賽事負責職員以書面或Whatsapp訊息反映，但最終賽果最終的決定權均由大會擁有。

An information counter will be set at the end point. For comments on the race result, participants could relay the situation to staffs in charge concerned by documents or Whatsapp messages. However, the decision of the organizer shall be final.
